Review: The Year of Secret Assignments is an extremely lovely tale of a pen-pal program between two hostile, Australian schools. First they are Australian and second there are cute boys. Anyway the story revolves around three girls who are bestfriends and their pen-friends. There is the chocolate and horse loving Emily who is writing to Charlie who is always in the principal's office. The somewhat criminal Lydia who writes to Sebastian who loves soccer and art. And Cassie who is writing the mysterious and psychopathic Matthew Dunlop. The story goes through their letters showing us their lives and struggles through them. Secret assignments keep popping up along the way bringing the friends closer together, breaking them apart, and in the end solving a crime (kinda)! I'd reccomend this to about anyone...mother, sister, third cousin twice removed! It's overall just a very enjoyable read.

Review: This book started with the crazy religious girl who just got into religion recently after previously being a party girl, then we meet (my favorite character) the runner girl from Kansas, and finally the Hollywood brat. All three girls are working at the same mountain resort in Colorado (I think) and are roommates. This book let me down. I read the back and expected it to be wonderful but it turned out pretty annoying and didn't really turn around until the end. Go ahead and read this book but don't expect quite as much out of it...

(I realize that review wasn't helpful...sorry didn't like the book as much.)
